Subject: Support for Kristen's Law (Public Law #106-468) Dear ___________________________________, Kristen's Act is now Kristen's Law (Public Law #106- 468). This means that a national clearing house will be established for missing adults, and that for the next four years, $1 million annually will be allocated to be used to help search for missing adults, age 18 and over, who are classified by law enforcement as at-risk/endangered. We would like to see the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) respond to Kristen's Law by revising their charter to remove their "18 and under" age restrictions. NCMEC would then provide the same services and resources to search for at-risk missing adults that they currently provide for missing children. No one should have to hear that their missing loved one is too old to receive help from our tax-supported National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, as the Modafferi family did when their daughter Kristen disappeared three weeks after her 18th birthday. We ask that you fully support Kristen's Law and the amendment to the NCMEC charter to eliminate any age restrictions. Signed, ______________________________
